GAZA, (PIC)– The Euro-mid Observer for Human Rights, based in Geneva, has charged in a new report issued at dawn Tuesday that Israel repeatedly and intentionally violated international law and conventions by targeting unarmed civilians and UN institutions in Gaza.
GAZA, (PIC)– The Euro-mid Observer for Human Rights, based in Geneva, has charged in a new report issued at dawn Tuesday that Israel repeatedly and intentionally violated international law and conventions by targeting unarmed civilians and UN institutions in Gaza.
According to the Euro-mid, the number of victims on Monday, the 28th day of the Israeli aggression, reached 56 people, including 22 children and 9 women. This brings the total number of casualties since the beginning of the Israeli attacks to 1865 people, of which 426 are children and 254 are women.
The number of wounded on the 28th day of the aggression is 198 wounded, including 72 children and 59 women. Their injuries range from light to serious; bringing up the total number of wounded since the beginning of the attacks to 9,563 wounded including 2,877 children and 1,927 women.
On Monday 4 August, Euro-Mid documented 330 missile fired by Israeli forces; including 99 airstrikes, 34 naval strikes and 167 artillery shells. The total number of Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the Israeli military operation has increased dramatically, reaching 59,200 attacks including 7,178 airstrikes, 15,580 naval projectiles and 36,442 artillery shells.
Along the same line, 121 houses were destroyed on Monday, 19 were totally destroyed and 102 were partially destroyed; bringing up the total number of damaged houses since the beginning of the attacks to 10,604 houses; of which 1,724 were totally destroyed and 8,880 were partially destroyed.
Euro-mid has pointed to the targeting of 7 mosques on Sunday, bringing up the total number to 134 mosques, of which 43 were totally destroyed, while 10 Islamic cemeteries and another Christian cemetery were bombed.
At least 200 schools where 150,000 students go to were damaged since the start of the aggression.
Israeli ongoing attacks deepened the economic underlying crisis to which Gazans have been subjected to for nearly 8 years due to the Israeli siege. It is estimated that the Israeli assault’s damages amount to approximately to 812 million dollars, including 503 dollars direct damages.
Euro-mid has also pointed to the displacement of several families who left their homes and turned to other citizens’ houses or to dozens of UNRWA schools which remain unsafe places for shelter after being targeted by Israeli forces. Euro-mid estimates the number of refugees to be more than 475,000 people so far.
